Bandaging a dog’s limb

  • Select an appropriate sized dressing
  • Handle it with care at the corner to prevent contamination
  • Place the wound dressing – shiny side down – onto the wound
  • Select an appropriate width padding bandage
  • Begin at the paw, looping over the toes
  • Then begin bandaging up towards the limb – overlapping each spiral
  • Continue bandaging to above the joint and tear off excess padding
  • Apply the conforming layer of bandaging with a bit of tension – cut off excess
  • Then apply the outer protective layer to cover the conforming layer
